In 2020, Amplio passed a major milestone: Talking Books have now reached over one million listeners. We expect that number to double by 2024.

2020 ANNUAL REPORT

Expanding Our Reach

In 2020, Talking Book programs and partnerships grew in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with our wonderful donors and partners, we’re reaching vulnerable communities and giving people access to information they can use to improve their livelihoods and lives.

Today, Talking Books have reached Haiti and Bangladesh, and we're expanding throughout West Africa. Thanks to donor support, we were able to develop a self-service platform that will allow our partners to more easily and cost-effectively launch and run their programs.

As the world reflects on the urgency of access to reliable information, Amplio will continue to ensure that no one is left behind. Join us, and become a source of life-changing knowledge.

In 2019, Amplio received a major philanthropic gift. The difference between 2020 revenues and expenses is due to a board-approved spend down to support scaling our programs and invest in research and development.

"The Talking Book is an effective technology to help some of the world’s poorest people. That’s why my wife Cathy and I provided the initial funding to expand Amplio’s programs beyond Africa, with programs in Haiti and Bangladesh."

Paul Cotton, Amplio Board Chair and President
